Which states does RPh Labs serve?
RPh Labs ships its pharmacogenetic testing kit to 45 states: every state except New York, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island and California. If you live in one of the 45, you can order online and collect your sample at home without visiting a clinic.
How do I get pharmacogenetic testing near me?
In the states we serve, the test comes to you. Order the kit online; it ships within one business day and typically arrives in two to four business days. You collect the sample at home and send it back the same day with the prepaid return postage already in the box.
Why is PGx testing not available in New York, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island or California?
State law currently prevents us from shipping kits to those five states. We are working towards making testing available there. In the meantime, a prescriber-ordered test through a local laboratory may still be available to you, so ask us and we will point you in the right direction.
How will I know when testing opens in my state?
Choose your state and leave your email in the form on this page and we will email you once, the day testing becomes available there. You can also call (888) 383-2181, 9am to 5pm CT, Monday to Friday.
Do I need a doctor to order genetic testing for medication?
No. In the states we serve you can order the kit yourself, collect the sample at home and share the report with whichever clinicians you choose. A licensed clinician reviews every self-ordered requisition, and a pharmacist reviews the report before it is released to your account.
Is pharmacogenomic testing covered by insurance in my state?
Coverage depends on your plan, your diagnosis codes and the plan’s medical-necessity criteria. We work with Medicare, Texas Medicaid (TMHP), Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas, Baylor Scott and White Health Plan, NOVA NET and USA Managed Care Organization. Ask us to check your benefits before you order.
How long do PGx test results take?
Seven to ten business days from the moment your sample reaches the laboratory, plus shipping each way, so most people have a report two to three weeks after ordering. You are emailed as soon as it is posted to your account.
In a state we do not serve yet?
Choose your state and leave us your email, and we will let you know the moment testing opens there. No other mail.
